Systemic Constellations for Changemakers

Discover what’s driving difficult interpersonal dynamics. Then respond with clarity, confidence, and care.

Systemic Constellations are a powerful tool to disentangle difficult dynamics and break free from stuck patterns in our work and lives.

Using systemic mapping and principles, constellations help us understand what’s really going on, especially when everyday logic falls short and we’ve tried everything else.

This method allows us to:

  • Translate what our bodies already know into language our brains can understand.
  • Uncover the hidden forces that keep us stuck, simplify the complex, and get to the core of challenging issues quickly.
  • Discover creative new responses that nourish our energy and move us forward.

At the end of sessions, clients often report a sense of relief, renewed energy, and reorientation along with clarity about their next steps.

Hi! I’m Katherine Golub, PCC, MBA (she/her).

As a mother, longtime community organizer, and city councilor, I know how hard it can be to create the change we long for, especially when challenging people dynamics arise. I know what it’s like to try to untangle interpersonal knots that only seem to tighten the harder you pull.

For over thirteen years, I’ve coached changemakers to transform workplace and community conflicts. Over the years, I’ve studied a range of modalities to help my clients rediscover confidence and clarity at work.

Each modality has its strengths, but few let you zoom out to see the often-invisible systemic patterns at play. Without that perspective, confusion sets in, frustration grows, rifts widen, and people leave work that matters to them.

That’s why I am so excited to share this potent method for change with you now.

Payment: $300. (I offer a sliding scale for community organizers. If you are an organizer grappling with an organizing-related conflict, and you cannot afford $300, please email me at katherine@callingsandcourage.com to discuss.)

I had tried writing and talking about my challenges with people at work, but I still felt confused and stuck. In our systemic constellations session, Katherine helped me clearly see people’s relationships to each other, power dynamics, and the past.

I came away with a fresh understanding of the dynamics underlying our challenges. I had been angry before, and I found a newfound compassion for my staff and their unaddressed wounds. Seeing what’s really going on has helped me to support my staff far more effectively.

I recommend systemic constellations to leaders struggling with long-time employees or founder dynamics. If you want to address the root causes of your challenges, this is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Systemic Constellations

What happens in a constellations session?

We begin with a brief interview to identify key facts, people, and elements in your relational or organizational system. We then create a 3D map of these elements, which shows complex dynamics and reveals patterns that may drive conflict or cause confusion.

Using this map, we ask questions to explore how misalignment with systemic principles may be disrupting flow. Then, we look for ways to regain a sense of coherence.

We end the session by discussing what has changed for you. This could be new insights, a shift in how you see yourself or others, renewed energy, or a feeling of forward movement.

Why not mediate the conflict or facilitate a conversation with the other person?

If you’re in a conflict where the other person also wants resolution, I encourage you to consider my mediation services. I integrate a Systemic Constellations lens into my mediation, and working with all parties in a conflict is often ideal.

Yet, there are times when the other person isn’t willing to take part or when you still feel stuck after mediation. In these cases, I recommend setting up a constellations session.

Can I bring another person to a session?

Yes. Constellations can be helpful for two or more people experiencing a conflict.

If you want to bring someone else, please add their name and your reasons for inviting them on your intake form. I’ll share any questions that may come up, and I may recommend a longer session so that you both have time to process. Together, we’ll decide on the best path forward.

What is the difference between constellations and traditional therapy or coaching?

Systemic Constellations, like traditional therapy, examine past events to help us understand current challenges. Unlike traditional psychotherapy, Systemic Constellations take a broader view to reveal dynamics beyond just one person’s experience. This method is especially helpful for those who have done a lot of personal work yet still feel stuck.

Unlike psychotherapy, I don’t diagnose or treat chronic depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues. Instead, I focus on interpersonal dynamics. Many of my clients see a psychotherapist alongside our sessions. The two approaches can complement each other well.

What is the difference between Systemic Constellations and family or organizational constellations?

Systemic Constellations is an umbrella term that includes both family constellations and organizational constellations. A session may look at intergenerational family dynamics, organizational dynamics, or both.

What are the origins of Systemic Constellations?

Systemic Constellations were first developed by Bert Hellinger. His work was shaped by years spent living with and learning from the Zulu people in South Africa. Although Systemic Constellations are less known in the United States, they are a well-established practice in Europe, Latin America, and beyond.

With whom have you studied Systemic Constellations?

I’ve completed facilitator training with Francesca Mason Boring, Leslie Nipps, Jane Peterson, and Bill Mannle. I’ve also trained with John Whittington’s Coaching Constellations, Sarah Peyton, Jan Jacob Stam, and Judy Wilkins-Smith. In 2026, I am engaging in The Hellinger Instituut’s Systemic Dynamics in Organizations training in the Netherlands and Sarah Peyton’s year-long Emergent Constellations facilitator training.

For a more detailed look at my professional training, click here.

How long is the session?

2 hours.

Where do we meet?

I see most of my clients on Zoom. It is possible to meet in person in Greenfield, MA, if you are in the area. Please let me know your preference when scheduling your appointment.

What if I need more support than one session?

Systemic Constellations provide powerful insights. Yet, to develop lasting skills, ongoing support may be needed.

If you’re curious about receiving ongoing thought partnership, accountability, and skill-building support, I invite you to check out my coaching services. I offer group coaching, executive coaching, and career clarity coaching.

If I sense that ongoing coaching might serve you, I may mention it during our session. If you’re interested in this coaching, we can set up a separate and free discovery session to discuss it more.

What's your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

I ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to reschedule. Life happens, and I’ll do my best to find a time that works for both of us. If you need to cancel altogether, please reach out as soon as you can so we can talk through your options.
