Hi, I’m Katherine Golub, PCC, MBA (she/her).
If you struggle with any of the challenges above, you’re not alone. You deserve support that maximizes your chances of success without sacrificing your well-being.
At the Center for Callings & Courage, I help purpose-driven leaders move from exhaustion and doubt to clarity, resilience, and sustainable impact.
As a certified coach, city councilor, mother, and community organizer with over twenty-five years in social change work, I understand the unique pressures you feel. I’ve guided hundreds of changemakers to transform similar challenges, combining professional expertise with lived experience to create lasting transformation.
You’ve likely tried many approaches—therapy, leadership programs, consultants, or spiritual practices.
While these may have helped in some ways, you’re still struggling to sustain your energy and create the impact you long for.
The missing piece? Integration of personal and systemic transformation.
Most support approaches focus only on one of two things:
- Your individual growth—while overlooking organizational dynamics.
- Organizational systems—while neglecting your personal needs.
This false split leads to frustration. When we focus on only ourselves, we risk a toxic individualism that compromises our integrity. When we focus only on collective needs, we risk burnout that strains our capacity to serve.
My coaching integrates six essential elements to help you lead in ways that make you proud:
1. Thought Partnership
Deep listening, insightful questions, and a fresh perspective from someone who understands the complexities of leadership and the realities of social change.
2. Systemic Perspective
Revealing hidden organizational patterns and intergenerational dynamics that keep you or your team stuck.
3. Practical Skill Development
Building specific leadership competencies—from communication and conflict transformation to decision-making and systems thinking.
4. Warm Accompaniment
Steady support from someone who has your back, celebrates your wins, and helps you navigate moments of uncertainty.
5. Personal Transformation
Trauma-informed healing of limiting beliefs and behaviors and support developing the ability to lead with confidence and strength.
6. Structured Accountability
Regular check-ins that help you integrate insights, build lasting habits, and celebrate success.
This steady coaching container will help you develop the skills to build high-performing teams, navigate complex challenges, and bring about the change you long for—while nourishing your energy and aligning with your values. These include:
1. Centered Leadership Presence
- Pausing before reacting to triggers.
- Settling your nervous system.
Centering yourself during challenging moments. - Accessing inner wisdom and intuition.
2. Strategic Clarity & Implementation
- Maintaining a clear vision through day-to-day challenges.
- Setting right-sized expectations.
- Organizing for the greatest impact.
- Designing systems that support your vision.
3. Self-Trust & Confidence
- Transforming limiting beliefs and patterns.
- Offering yourself warmth and kindness.
- Embodying a sense of enoughness.
- Navigating competing values with integrity.

4. Conflict Transformation
- Integrating feedback and criticism.
- Communicating boundaries with care.
- Making requests that inspire commitment.
- Making decisions that honor competing needs.
My approach balances structure and flexibility, offering a container for transformation that honors your immediate needs and long-term growth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Leadership Coaching
Who is this for?
Purpose-driven leaders — nonprofit directors, community organizers, progressive policymakers — who are experiencing burnout, longing to get clear about what’s next, grappling with conflict or tension at work, struggling with self-doubt, exhausting themselves trying to be everything to everyone, or feeling uncertainty about big questions related to vision and impact. If you came to your work because you care about the world and you’re now facing challenges that feel too complex to navigate alone, this is for you.
What's the difference between Leadership Coaching and the Changemakers' Mentorship cohort?
Leadership Coaching is one-on-one and built entirely around your specific situation. Changemakers’ Mentorship is a small-group cohort offering similar support — steady presence, leadership skills, clarity about what’s next — at a lower price point. If you’re drawn to community and peer connection alongside your own growth, the Mentorship might be the better fit. I’m happy to help you figure out which matches your needs best on our free discovery call.
Do I need to have done therapy or coaching before?
No. Some of my clients come having never worked with a coach or therapist before. Others have years of inner work behind them and are looking for something that integrates the personal and the systemic in a way they haven’t found elsewhere. Wherever you’re starting from is the right place to start.
Is this confidential?
Yes. I respect your privacy, and everything we discuss remains in strict confidence. Coaching is also confidential from your board, staff, bosses, and funders. I will only share what you share with me during a coaching session with your explicit consent.
How much does leadership coaching with you cost?
I offer six-month coaching packages on a solidarity pricing scale of $3,000 to $6,000. I want this work to be accessible, so I trust you to choose the number that’s right for your circumstances. You can read more about how my pricing structure works.
How long does initial coaching engagement last, and how often do we meet?
We work together for six months. The first month is foundation-building: two 2-hour sessions where we co-create your personalized development plan and articulate your next-horizon vision, competency-based outcomes, values, and commitment. From month two on, we meet for one-hour sessions every two weeks (weekly is available too), with written check-ins and unlimited email support in between.
Do you offer anything shorter than a six-month commitment, like single sessions?
This is rare. Over the years, I’ve learned that most clients need a container of support to hold them through the arc of transformation, which can include peaks and valleys. Six months has proven to be ample time for long-term transformation, and I rarely shorten that timeline, since rushing tends to undercut the depth of change clients are looking for. That said, our contract states that if you no longer find coaching useful, you can end at any time, so if you feel complete, you are free to end.
How is progress measured along the way?
We don’t wait until the end to find out if this is working. Together, we’ll define competency-based outcomes in the first month. Then, we revisit them throughout our work together through your weekly written check-ins, our regular sessions, and ongoing conversations. We do a mid-term check-in and end-of-program check-in to assess your level of satisfaction with each of the outcomes we articulated. Clients consistently report significantly increased satisfaction at both the 3-month and 6-month mark. If something isn’t working, we name it, readjust, and work to get you the support you need.
What if it's not the right fit once we start?
If either of us senses that this isn’t the right support for you, my contract states that we can end at any time. That said, it is rare that clients end before the 6 months are up. Instead, if something feels off, we share with each other as soon as possible and are almost always successful at finding a path forward that works well.
What happens after the six months ends?
After experiencing the benefits of our work together, many clients choose to continue with another six-month chapter to tend to new learning edges and opportunities. Others feel complete and step away with the tools and confidence to keep going on their own. Before we wrap up, we’ll talk together about what kind of ongoing support, if any, would serve you best — whether that’s continuing our work, moving to less frequent check-ins, or something else.
Do we meet in person or virtually?
I meet with all clients by Zoom. Occasionally, I will meet for a session or two with a local client in-person in Greenfield, MA.
Do you work with clients outside Massachusetts?
Yes. I work with clients around the US, and occasionally internationally.
Can my organization pay for this as professional development?
Often, yes. Many of my clients’ organizations cover all or part of the cost as professional development. If your organization offers funding for growth and development, I encourage you to ask — I’m happy to provide documentation or a short write-up explaining the value of this work to support your request.
How do I get started?
Before committing to working together, we’ll start with a free, one-hour discovery call. I’ll ask questions to understand your needs, and you’ll leave with more clarity about your next steps — whether that’s working with me or something else entirely. There’s no commitment required, and if I sense another form of support would serve you better, I’ll share that with you. To sign up for a discovery session, fill out the intake form below and then choose a time that works for you.
