Are you going back and forth about whether to stay in or leave a job, relationship, or other commitment?

Crossroads moments can feel so daunting, leaving us feeling stuck and scared. You may have tried various strategies to figure out what’s next—talking to therapists, partners, or friends, reading books, listening to podcasts, or hoping for change—but still feel confused.

When lost in the woods, we need a map, a compass, and a guide. Similarly, when feeling lost in life, we need support. If you long for clarity and confidence in your next steps, join me for Choose Your Next Right Thing.

Hello! I’m Katherine Golub, MBA, PCC (she/her).

Eighteen years ago, I faced the biggest crossroads of my life. My partner was deported, I discovered I was pregnant, I left work I cared deeply about, and I moved to Mexico seven months pregnant. I faced the biggest decisions of my life—Would I stay with my son’s dad? What would I do for work? Where would I live?

Over the coming years, I trained as a doula, yoga teacher, and completed a year-long apprenticeship in the Four Agreements. What I learned helped me find my path forward and become truer to myself than ever before. I still rely on these same principles and practices to make decisions I’m proud of in my work, relationships, and co-parenting.

For the past 13 years, I’ve taught these tools to hundreds of coaching clients seeking clarity and confidence. If you long to feel clear, courageous, and calm as you face the path ahead, I hope you’ll join me.

I was burned out after decades of work as a teacher, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do next. Katherine normalized my struggles and helped me believe that I deserve a more satisfying life. Her intuitive, compassionate approach made me feel like I had a friend by my side.

Now, my work has taken a direction that feels so right for me: Disaster relief work. And I am so pleased with the unexpected growth in my relationships. I continue using the practices Katherine taught me regularly to discern and take next steps.

I highly recommend Katherine’s support to anyone who wants to more intentionally move through life, figure out how to make a positive impact while taking care of themselves, and experience more wholeness and joy.

What It Is and How It Works

CLASSES: Each week, on Tuesdays at 12pm EST, there is a 90-minute class where we dive deep into practices to help you get clear on — and stay aligned with — what matters most.

Person Walking in Nature Icon

Module 1:

Charting Your Path to Clarity.  We’ll start by exploring a proven roadmap to clarity that blends design thinking, ancient mythology, and neuroscience. You’ll learn to navigate this map, enabling you to identify your next steps with confidence and precision.

Module 2:

Honing Your Inner Compass. To make wise decisions, we often have to engage in many smaller, important conversations first. To engage these conversations skillfully, we need to discern what we truly need. This module will enhance your ability to tune in to your inner guidance, helping you identify what matters most in each moment and make decisions with assurance.

Module 3:

Crossing the Gates & Soothing Doubt:  Every journey to what’s next requires crossing through gates—moments of decision where we must let go of something to say yes to what’s calling us next. Here, you’ll learn the art of weighing costs and benefits, breaking free from fear-based patterns, soothing your Voice of Doubt, and making bold, wise choices.

Module 4:

Building Your Support Network: In no great story does the adventurer go it alone. In this module, you’ll identify the support you need to move forward, prepare to ask for it, and learn ways to nourish yourself even when you feel alone.

Module 5:

Crafting Your Ongoing Clarity Plan: The tools you learn here will help you get clearer immediately, and if you keep engaging them, they’ll help you find clarity long into the future. In this final module, you’ll develop a sustainable plan to continue making decisions that honor your needs and stay aligned with what matters most to you.

Here are the course components:

CLASSES: For five weeks we dive deep into the principles and practices you need to get clear about what’s next.

INSIDE VIEW CO-WORKING DROP-IN RETREAT: Getting clear requires introspection. To offer a supportive container and compassionate accountability for this solitary part of the process, I’ll host a drop-in co-working retreat for the first weekend. You’re free to attend as many as you’d like.

Q&A COACHING: For five weeks, we’ll meet for drop-in coaching sessions where you can ask your questions, get personalized support, and learn from others’ experiences. Even if you don’t ask a question, you’ll gain valuable insights.

RECORDINGS: Yes! The classes and coaching will be recorded and sent out the next business day if you can’t be there live.

ACCESSIBILITY: This course requires internet access. All classes are in English. Zoom captioning/transcription is automatically available for each class. If you have additional access needs, please reach out to me at katherine@callingsandcourage.com.

Katherine’s kind and supportive guidance and accountability helped me learn more about myself than I had cumulatively in all my years until then. It is not hyperbole: Katherine helped me change the trajectory of my life.

I highly recommend Katherine’s services to anyone seeking clarity on who they are, who they want to be, and their life’s calling.

Choose Your Next Right Thing will teach you the skills needed to:

  • Soothe the Voices of Worry and Self-Doubt: Quiet the internal noise so you can access a sense of centered calm.
  • Tune into Your Intuition: Listen to what your body wants you to know and discern what you truly need.
  • Prioritize What You Value Most: Identify what matters most to you in this next phase of your life, and make the bold choices necessary to prioritize that.
  • Gather the Information You Need: To make wise decisions, we need to not only listen to ourselves but also to the world around us. Here, you’ll learn to have the necessary conversations, do the essential research, and find the information you need.
  • Cultivate Right-Sized Courage: When faced with fear, many people avoid what scares them. Others charge past their fear, doing the scary thing without proper preparation. You’ll learn how to face your fears with compassion, get to the heart of the matter, and prepare to do the scary thing while honoring your needs.
  • Confidently Engage the Scary Conversations: Share your needs with others, ask for the support you need, and tell people no in ways that may actually strengthen your relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I definitely be totally clear by the end of the program?

As much as I wish I could, I cannot promise complete clarity by the end of the course. Everyone’s pacing is different. For example, sometimes people find a new job right at the beginning of career coaching. Others figure out what they want and get on track with their career search, but don’t find exactly what they’re looking for before the group is over.

Clarity is an emergent phenomenon, an iterative process that unfolds over time. It’s like holding a lantern in the dark. We often cannot see far ahead, but when we choose our next steps with care, clarity emerges, step by baby step, choice by little choice.

What I can promise you is that if you show up consistently and continue applying the principles and practices you learn, they will support you in finding the clarity and confidence you seek and in charting a path forward that honors your needs.

Do organizations sometimes pay for employees to participate in this program?

Often! If you work for an organization that offers professional development funding to staff, I encourage you to request funding to cover your enrollment.

I’ve found that, with my support, about half of my clients fall back in love with the work they currently do and re-engage with it in a more alive and effective way. This can therefore be a wise investment for organizations, and I am happy to discuss presenting the case for organizational investment with you.

Do you offer other coaching options?

Absolutely! If you long for one-to-one support, I invite you to explore my private career coaching and executive coaching services.

And if you’re a social change leader who’s facing conflict, overwhelm, or self-doubt and wants to increase your effectiveness and ease in your current work, I invite you to check out my Changemakers’ Mentorship.

I’m having technical trouble filling out the form below.

Here’s what some more previous clients have to say about their work with me…

The group sessions held space for open, vulnerable, and real sharing, and the regular reflections gave me the support I needed to shift tough long-term patterns into a new way of being.

During my time with Katherine, I started a new job, and I’m approaching it much differently than my previous work. I am now committed to honoring my body’s need for rest and taking breaks throughout the workday.

I highly recommend Katherine’s group to anyone looking to overcome burnout, get clear around difficult decisions, and become the person they’re called to be.

Cori

The group sessions helped me feel less alone and reminded me how being in community and connecting with others in vulnerable and authentic ways is critical for my well-being.

Rather than staying stuck, I’m now able to be honest with myself about what I feel and what I need. I now take more time for myself between my many meetings and assignments (something that I never did previously).

I have accomplished so much progress towards my goals! I can’t believe how differently my life looks today compared to when I began this process! I am progressing toward the sense of peace that I’ve been longing for and a sense of alignment with my callings in this life.

Megan

My work with Katherine gave me the space to imagine and trust that there could be something different that would be even better, as opposed to just slogging down the same trail pulling the weight behind me forever. And it was true!

My free time is now truly mine, and I am exploring areas of interest that bring me great joy and spending more time with friends and family.

As I set goals for myself over the last few years, the word “freedom” kept coming up. My goal was freedom, and now I have more freedom than I’ve ever had. My goal was to have ease, and I have more ease than ever before.

Sue

When challenging feelings around my trans identity surfaced in relation to the group’s dynamics or my journey growing my business, I reached out to Katherine, and I always felt supported by our conversations, our plan of action, and Katherine’s follow-through.

The support from Katherine and cohorts helped me refocus when I encountered transphobic treatment while growing my business. Rather than feeling defeated or throwing in the towel—which I believe I would have if I’d been on my own—the support helped me see that moment as a bump in the road, use it as an opportunity to discern what I really wanted, and keep going.

I found my dream gig, and still, six months later, doors just keep opening. The possibilities feel endless.

Keelan

Katherine helped me recognize what was holding me back from taking care of myself, address deeper lifelong patterns that led to overworking, and recommit to a practice of self-compassion.

She helped me discern which items to prioritize and hold myself accountable for moving projects forward. I reorganized my schedule, revised my website and prices, set up a new accounting system, and developed new practices to regain and maintain my energy.

I no longer feel burned out. Instead, I’m in what feels like a whole new phase of my practice and am enjoying growing the non-work areas of my life. I can’t recommend working with Katherine enough!

Kate

Since my twenties, I’ve attended seminars about personal growth. None came close to working with Katherine.

Now, when facing a difficult choice or juggling too many tasks at once, I refer back to the goals Katherine helped me develop to prioritize and make the right decision. Now I journal daily, which helps me set my thoughts aside for reflection at my leisure. And when things get too intense, I pause and return my attention to my body and mind.

A few weeks before leaving my career of thirty-three years, I had consulting work lined up that was meaningful, lucrative, and within my wheelhouse. I credit Katherine with helping me make my new calling a reality, find more joy and balance in my life, and develop the tools to continue moving forward.

Marc

When I started working with Katherine, I fit the definition of physician burnout. I was exhausted—physically, emotionally, spiritually. My compassion fatigue felt like an insurmountable barrier between me and those I cared for. And the healthcare system made me feel like a useless cog in a dysfunctional machine.

When I started working with Katherine, I actually feared regaining a sense of hope. I thought that if I started to believe I could find fulfillment and peace, I might set myself up for a huge fall. Despite my initial resistance, Katherine helped me ignite a tiny spark of hope. And this time it was not the naive hope of an idealistic girl. It was a hard earned, realistic hope. I emerged from a dark tunnel of limitations into a wide open space of possibilities.

Katherine helped me discover that I already had all the answers I needed. I just needed a wise partner/guide to help me uncover them and accountability to put them into action. Her process of asking deep, penetrating questions with unconditional positive regard and using the answers to craft practical action steps did more in six months than years of therapy had before.

When I first came to see Katherine, I was struggling between starting a new business and not knowing if I was starting the right business. I was looking for a definitive answer to that question. My day-to-day was frantic. I wanted to do so much for so many people. I was having a difficult time charging people a wage that was livable for me. My schedule was dictated by what my clients wanted, not what I needed.

After months of trying to fix the problems on my own, I knew if I wanted to make my business work and be successful, I needed some help.

Katherine taught me how to say no and create boundaries. I now have better control over the time that I spend, and I take myself more seriously in my work and my relationships with my clients. My nerves and my being are more settled and comfortable in my life. And now, when life is starting to feel unsettled, I have the ability to change how I respond to it and regain control and a sense of calm.

Marcie

Before I met Katherine, I struggled with the “fear of getting started,” or what I called FOGS. Katherine taught me to calm my mind and choose my next step with wisdom. I rely on the practices she taught me to manage my workload without feeling overwhelmed and get started on things easily.

Working with Katherine helped me to shift my role at work. Before, I was caught in the weeds doing technical work. Now, I am the point person for a strategic program to increase accessibility in online user experience. It’s fascinating work. Whereas before I wasn’t very communicative, I now communicate early, often, and well. Opening myself up to working with other people was key to my current success.

Once my work improved, it opened everything else up too, like family and friendships. It still fascinates me how working on one piece of my life ripples out in so many directions.
