What if you trusted yourself to honor your needs?

What if it was easy to dedicate time to yourself without sacrificing your values or relationships?

What if the same small choices increased your impact and your joy?

You work hard to care for others and make a difference.

But your work takes its toll:

  • You often feel exhausted and overwhelmed by everything you have to do, yet worried you’re doing enough. (This is Emily and Amelia Nagoski’s definition of burnout).
  • You give so much to others, and sometimes you feel resentful that you’re not receiving
  • Your heart aches with the pain of social injustice, which makes you feel even more guilty about dedicating time to yourself.
  • You feel like life is a constant double-bind: Either you tend to your needs or others’ needs. It’s really hard to do both.

You long to live in the both-and: To feel proud of how you show up for others and yourself, energized by the contributions you make and the joy you feel outside of work.

But you struggle to figure out how.

Radical Discernment: Level One

Set Boundaries. Choose Joy.

Waiting list for the next cohort is filling now!

At the price of… Pay from the heart.

Yes, I am offering this course on a “pay from the heart” basis. I’ll explain more about why and how further down, but the bottom line is this:

You choose your price.

If you’re like most of my clients, you’ve done a ton of work on yourself to set better boundaries. Yet you still struggle to figure out how.

This might be why:

1.  First off, the word boundary isn’t the most helpful.

Like many words in the English language, the word boundary is rooted in colonialism and separation culture. We need new language that expresses what we truly want, that helps us both care for ourselves and nurture our collective wellbeing.

2.  Second, rigid, pre-determined boundaries are not the best tool for navigating the complex, unpredictable demands of life.

Yes, we need to assert clear no’s, honor our needs, and not take on what is not ours (i.e., set boundaries). But rigid boundaries do not allow us to nimbly respond to the complexities of life and are therefore hard to maintain.

3.  Boundaries can help us say no to what we don’t want, but they often don’t help us say a wholehearted yes! to what we long for.

Saying yes is far more psychologically motivating than saying no. To create a joy-filled life, we must get good at saying yes.

4.  Boundary is a noun. We need a verb.

This one may seem like semantics, but it’s not. We don’t do nouns, which makes boundaries hard to do. We do verbs. If boundaries are the noun we want, Radical Discernment is the verb that gets us there.

To create lives rich with joy, meaning, and connection, we need the skill and practice of making choices that honor our needs.

I call this practice Radical Discernment.

“Systems and structures dominate.

But as human beings, we have choices.

As individuals, those choices are limited.

But collectively, our choices add up to a force.”

-Fahd Ahmed

What is Radical Discernment?

Most people believe (whether they’re aware of it or not) that caring for others requires us to sacrifice ourselves. But, in reality, the same practices that help us show up more effectively for our people can also help us feel good.

Calling & Courage Learning CommunityWelcome! I’m Katherine Golub (she/her), MBA, PCC.

I’ve been an activist for over 22 years and a coach for almost 10, and this is the most important thing I’ve learned to avoid (and heal from) burnout:

Our tiniest choices can build our capacity to show up—for ourselves and our world—in ways that make us proud.

Through thousands of hours of coaching people who care deeply about social change, I discovered and developed a body of work I call Radical Discernment.

Radical Discernment is the practice of making choices that honor our needs.

I’ve found radical discernment to be the most important element for setting boundaries, emerging from burnout, and crafting a life of impact and aliveness.

It’s all about integrating these ten core practices into your life:

Over the ten weeks of this course, I’ll guide you through the core practices of Radical Discernment so that you can set better boundaries, heal from / prevent burnout, and bring more joy into your life.

One: The Moment of Choice. Pausing when triggered and shifting from reacting habitually to responding choicefully.

Two: The Compassionate Witness. Embodying the compassionate witness and turning toward yourself with love and kindness

Three: The Compass. Tuning in to the wisdom of your body and identifying your needs, desires, and longings

Four: Collective Needs. Listening to what the collective needs and figuring out how to show up for social change

Five: Your Guiding Principles. Clarifying your values, vision, and commitments, and aligning your life with what matters most

Six: Structure & Schedules. Organizing your life to honor your needs and dedicate time to what matters most

Seven: Self-Mediation. Sitting down beside the parts of yourself who are pulling in different directions & hearing what they need

Eight: Story-Shifting. Stepping back from your limiting beliefs, noticing what’s really happening, & choosing a story that serves you more

Nine: Skillful Requests. Speaking your truth with clarity and compassion and asking for what you need

Ten: Celebration. Investigating what works, noticing hidden possibilities, sharing gratitude, and savoring what’s good in your life

In this course, you will strengthen your ability to:

  • Listen to your intuition and understand what you really need.
  • Receive what you need, rather than constantly giving.
  • Act with intention, integrity, clarity, and confidence in your choices.
  • Consciously respond to the needs of the moment, which sometimes means staying the course and sometimes means shifting paths.
  • Be true to your whole self—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
  • Trust yourself to discern what to say yes to and what to say no to, even as circumstances shift and unexpected requests come your way.
  • Embody a heart-centered presence, even in the midst of the chaos, pain, and stresses of life.

Praise from Past Clients…

I’ve gotten much better at not taking on everything myself and trusting other people to do things that I used to feel obligated to do.

Instead of being driven by guilt, I’m now guided by knowing my gifts and seeing where they’re most needed. I’m able to make choices that serve me and the world more, and I feel more confident about my decisions.

Abby – Gender-Based Violence Systems Change Advocate

Not only have I achieved more work-life balance than ever, but I also gained the courage and self-confidence to let go of things that held me back from being my full self.

I learned to listen to my intuition, quiet the inner critic, set healthy boundaries and am creating space for what I’m most excited about – a budding new entrepreneurial career and a life aligned with my truest self.

Amy – Leadership Professional

Katherine taught me how to say “no” and create boundaries that work for me. I now have better control over the time that I spend, and I take myself more seriously in my work and my relationships with my clients. My nerves and my being are more settled and comfortable in my life.

And now, when life is starting to feel unsettled, I have the ability to change how I respond to it and regain control and a sense of calm.

Marcie Cormier – Bookkeeper

How I Discovered Radical Discernment

I’m an activist first and a coach second.

I first became politicized in high school, learning about US foreign policy in Central America. At first, I fell in love with activism.

But I based my self-worth on how much I accomplished. The work took its toll, and I struggled with chronic anxiety and other health problems. A voice inside begged me to care for myself, but the part that said I wasn’t doing enough won out.

Then, a series of wake-up calls changed everything.

First, my partner was racially profiled and deported back to Mexico. A few months later, I discovered I was eight weeks pregnant. Finally, in January 2008, when I was seven months pregnant, I moved to Oaxaca, Mexico. To be the mother I wanted to be, I needed to care for myself.

I left my high-paced union organizing job, became a yoga teacher and birth doula, and finally moved to Greenfield, Massachusetts (the unceded lands of the Pocumtuc people) in August 2012. In January 2013, I opened my coaching practice.

Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to helping people committed to social change experience greater impact and joy.

Over thousands of hours of helping my clients create better boundaries, reclaim their energy, get clear about what’s next, show up confidently, and truly enjoy their lives, I’ve discovered this:

The small practices that help my clients become more effective also help them experience a lasting sense of aliveness and ease.

I named this set of practices and skills radical discernment.

To learn more about my credentials and story, click here.

I’ve taken so many classes on self-growth, and two main things set Katherine apart.

First, she has a style that’s zero judgment. Many people in the “coaching” field have a certain vibe that makes it hard for me to feel like I can be my full self. Katherine, on the other hand, is completely accepting and real, and working with her has allowed me to get to a place that is super authentic.

Second, the tools and teachings she offers are much more practical and easy-to-apply than a lot of the other stuff out there. Many classes give you the background and theory, but then you don’t know what to do with it. She explains the research behind the practices she teaches, and then she tells you how to apply it to your own life. Her teachings actually get you results.

Tess – Solar Start-Up VP

Working with Katherine, I learned how to trust myself, slow way down and pause (even in the midst of rapid change), and stop second-guessing myself.

I still can’t express how valuable working with Katherine was for me! I am a different leader than I would have been, and, months later, I am excited to say that I am a person who pauses still.

My company saw that the work was so impactful that they offered to reimburse my investment in coaching.

Angie – District Manager

I appreciated Katherine’s thoughtfulness, deep listening, and personalized approach. She helped me improve my communication skills, listen to my body, and gain focus and clarity in my decision-making so I could make decisions confidently and authentically.

Our 10 Modules: The Core Practices of Radical Discernment

Through ten power-packed modules, I teach you the ten core principles and practices of radical discernment and help you integrate them into your life.

Each session will be interactive with reflection time, somatic exercises, and Q&A coaching. And you’ll receive prep readings, worksheets, and accountability support to help you easily integrate what you learn between sessions.

Here are our modules:

Getting Oriented & Taking in the Good

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

We’ll kick things off by orienting you to the journey ahead—what to expect, how to get the most out of the course, and our map for change.

You’ll also begin to practice the first core practice: Celebration. When the world is so complex, the future so uncertain, and so many variables outside your control, it can sometimes be hard to trust that our efforts are worthwhile. Yet, to stay true to our callings and experience far greater joy while we’re at it, we must practice celebration.

In this class, you’ll:

  • Explore four quick yet potent practices to help you notice more of the goodness of life, shine light on hidden opportunities, and make joy a habit.
  • Ask all your questions about course logistics so that you feel settled and supported.
  • Start feeling connected to the rest of the group.

My aim is to help you feel oriented and held as we begin our journey together.

The Moment of Choice

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

To choose, we must pause. When we intentionally integrate pauses throughout our days, we access the ability to stop reacting habitually, start responding consciously, bring our minds to the present moment, and increase our capacity to make decisions that meet our needs.

In this module, you’ll

  • Learn how to shift from a reaction loop to a choice loop
  • Begin integrating pause for settling your body and choosing consciously throughout your days
  • Receive recordings of a guided settling practice and centering practice that you can listen to at any time

Start recognizing the little gates you face—moments of choice at which we must let go of something to more fully become the person we’re called to be now.

The Compassionate Witness

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Dominant culture socialized most of us to reject ourselves, our feelings, and our needs. But when we turn away from our inner experience, it becomes harder to know what we need, and it often makes us feel worse.

When we learn to embody the compassionate witness and turn toward ourselves with love and kindness, we soothe our fear, accompany our pain, and become far more equipped to offer ourselves what we need.

In this module, you’ll learn:

  • Why embodying the compassionate witness can be so transformative
  • 3 simple yet potent practices for turning toward yourself with love and kindness
  • How to shift from self-judgment into self-love.

The Compass

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Most of us have been socialized to ignore our feelings and our needs. But this makes it nearly impossible to hear what our bodies are communicating or understand what we need and want.

To make choices that honor our needs, we must tune into the wisdom of our bodies and discern what we really need. And, we must prioritize taking good care of our bodies (think sleep and exercise!).

In this module, you’ll practice:

  • Tuning into the wisdom of your body
  • Discerning your body’s yes’s, no’s, and maybe’s
  • Identifying what you need and want and distinguishing between the two.
  • Honoring your needs for sleep and movement.

Integration Week:

This week, we’ll take a little extra time to catch your breath, review the work, and integrate what you’re learning.

No additional content, no live call. Spaciousness. And, I’ll offer some guidance on how to spend this week, so it’s not just blank space.

Your Guiding Principles

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

When we clearly articulate what matters most to us—our core values, vision, and commitments, they become beacons that shine through the fog of exhaustion and overwhelm and guide us in the direction of what matters most.

In this module, you will articulate:

  • Your Core Values: What matters most to you.
  • Your Next Horizon Vision: All of the puzzle pieces of the life you long for, however far into the future you’re able to imagine.
  • An Embodied Commitment Statement: A solemn declaration of what you’re committed to doing or who you’re committed to being in this next phase of your life.

The clarity you discover in this module will help you cut through uncertainty, more quickly and easily make decisions that serve you, and stay true to yourself.

Structures & Schedules

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

The extent to which we honor our needs largely comes down to how we relate to time and structure our days/weeks/months.

We must create—and consistently use—structures that help us relate to time in ways that serve us well. These structures can include practices for:

  • Keeping track of responsibilities (in a calm and clutter-free way),
  • Holding the details and the big picture,
  • Setting priorities,
  • Creating goals that match the time you have (and identifying what doesn’t fit in your schedule),
  • Dedicating time to what matters most (including your physical health), and
  • Staying on track.

Integrating these practices into your lives can help you and your clients reduce overwhelm and increase focus, clarity, and ease.

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Sometimes, when we identify our priority needs, our next steps become clear. Other times, it feels like we’re standing at a crossroads, and we must let something significant go to choose either path.

In this module, I’ll teach you two practices for getting clear when you or your clients are standing at a crossroads:

  1. Self-Mediation: This practice will help you sit beside the parts of yourself that are pulling in opposite directions, listen to their deeper needs, and identify a path forward that meets your needs and feels right to you.
  2. Dialogue with the Voice of Doubt: When your gut knows what to do, but a Voice of Doubt in you screams Yeah but… and What if?, this practice can help you get clear about what the Voice of Doubt really needs and craft a path forward that honors all of your needs.

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Each of us carriesa pack of stories—beliefs, biases, mindsets, judgments, assumptions, and so forth—that we’ve picked up over our lifetimes. Some of these stories serve us, but many hold us back from living our callings and meeting our needs.

In this module, you’ll learn how to begin taking back your freedom from your limiting stories by:

  • Discerning between your stories and what is really happening,
  • Shining light on the stories that no longer serve you, and
  • Choosing stories that serve you more.

Integration Week:

This week, we’ll take a little extra time to catch your breath, review the work, and integrate what you’re learning.

I’ll offer guidance on how to spend this week so that you maintain momentum over the break.

Skillful Requests

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Once you know what you need, it’s time to speak your truth to others.

But many of us have been socialized to people please, put others’ needs above our own, and say yes when we want to say no. To honor our needs, we must learn to say no and to make requests with clarity and compassion.

In this module, you will:

  • Discern what support you want from others.
  • Create a plan for reaching out for support.
  • Learn a proven, four-part template for making skillful requests.
  • Prepare to share your plans with people close to you who wish you’d abandon your plans—in a way that maximizes the chances of receiving their support and deepening your relationship.

Celebration & Closing

Live Call:
12pm Eastern

Live Call:

January 12, 2023

12pm Eastern

In this final session, we’ll celebrate what you’ve learned in our time together, answer final questions, tie up any loose ends, and set concrete next steps for continuing to integrate Radical Discernment into your life.

Here’s what happened when Oriana, Jane, & Matt integrated these practices into their lives…

I discovered that I have the power to choose—what I do, how I do it, and how I feel about myself and about my circumstances. I developed the courage to put myself out there and try things that I wouldn’t have tried in the past. I am now so much kinder to myself, and I comfort myself when I feel discomfort. I trust that I have the practices I need to support my vision for a long time to come.

Oriana Falkowski – Money Map Coach

Now, when I experience conflict or angst in a relationship, I’m able to separate facts from stories and identify my and others’ unmet needs. I feel much more comfortable in unresolved conflict, and I’m far more able to stay curious and show up with caring and compassion first.

Jane – Assistant Vice President in Learning & Development at a Large Academic Medical Center

Before I met Katherine, I struggled with the “fear of getting started” or what I called FOGS. Katherine taught me to stop worrying, calm my mind, and choose my next step with wisdom. I still rely on the practices she taught me to manage my workload without feeling overwhelmed and get started on things easily.

Once my work improved, it opened everything else up too, like family and friendships. It still fascinates me how working on one piece of your life ripples out in so many directions.

Matt – IT Director

Here are All of the Elements That Make this Program Effective:

I’ve developed Radical Discernment through coaching hundreds of people to craft lives that honor their needs, lives of contribution and joy. Along the way, I’ve discovered certain elements that support transformation. That’s why I’ve created the program to include the following elements:

Ten Live Calls

The live calls consist of guided practices to help you embody each week’s teachings and lots of opportunities to ask your questions. I am live with you every session.

MP3 Downloads & Transcripts of All Live Classes

Not everyone can make every class. Previous commitments, time zone issues, sicknesses, appointments. People have lives! My team and I will share a video recording, audio recording, and written transcript within two business days of each call. (Heads up, we use an automated transcript service, so the transcripts will be unedited.) That way, you get to engage at your own speed. You can always make classes up, and there is no such thing as falling behind.

Teaching Materials Beyond the Live Classes

In addition to the live sessions, each week on Thursday, you’ll receive articles that prepare you for the next week’s live session and deepen and expand upon what you’ll learn in class.

Weekly Written Check-Ins

Each week by Tuesday at midnight, you’ll fill in an online form reflecting on takeaways, challenges, and questions related to the curriculum. Although it may sound like busy work, the check-in process generates results: Participants who complete the written check-in each week experience far better outcomes. These check-ins will help you stay accountable to reflecting on what you’ve learned and help you integrate and retain much more. Furthermore, these check-ins are a place for you to ask all your questions. Furthermore, it’s a place for you to ask questions, beyond the time in the live calls.

Written Answers to Questions You Submit

With so many participants engaging and asking questions throughout this course, it will likely be impossible to answer everyone’s questions during the live calls. And yet, answering your questions is very important to me. That’s why I sit with your questions on Wednesdays after receiving your check-ins on Tuesdays. I’ll bring together similar questions and answer them collectively and answer as many unique questions as possible. I also select questions from the check-ins to answer in the live calls (as long as the person who asked the questions is present on the call with me). All participants will receive my written answers on a Q&A page (with names removed for confidentiality).

Plus, Bonus:

Where to Show Up for Social Justice Ebook

There are so many pressing issues at this moment in time, how do you decide where to dedicate your energy? In this guidebook, I guide you through a few simple exercises to help you see more possibilities for engaging with change and choose where and how to show up in a way that makes an impact and feels fulfilling to you.

Here’s the Weekly Rhythm:

  • On Thursday Before Each Live Session: You receive teaching materials related to that week’s lesson.
  • By midnight Tuesday: You fill in a weekly written check-in with takeaways, challenges, and questions.
  • By 4pm EST Wednesdays: I send all participants written answers to participant questions.
  • Thursdays at 12pm EST: We gather for a live call with guided practice and Q&A coaching.
  • By Fridays at 5pm EST: My team sends MP3 downloads and a transcript of the previous live class.

And for When You Sign Up Before Friday, October 7…

Early Bird Special!

Somatic Practices for Better Boundaries

People who sign up by the early bird date are invited to join our special class: Somatic Practices for Better Boundaries.

It’s far less effective to think about boundaries. Instead, we must embody our boundaries. In this bonus class, I’ll teach you a handful of somatic (body-based) practices that you can start practicing immediately to help you say no to what you don’t want, yes to what you do, and feel strong standing on your own two feet.

The price? It’s pay from the heart.

What I mean by “Pay from the Heart.”

Simply put, “Pay from the Heart” means that you check in with your heart and choose a payment that works for you.

I want you to feel good about our relationship—what you receive as a course participant and what you give in exchange.

I trust you to find a number that feels good, no less and no more.

What is sustainable for us.

To be in right relationship with you, I also need to be honest about my needs. (Otherwise, I would not be a great model for making choices that honor our needs!)

The reality is that at less than $95, I risk not covering my needs. And so, I decided, from the heart, to set the minimum contribution at $95 dollars.

If you have the means to pay more, $225 is my preferred, comfortable price. This amount meets my needs well and allows me to comfortably work to bring these teachings to more people without worrying about making ends meet.

And, food and shelter: If you are in a financial situation where spending $95 dollars puts you at risk of not being able to afford food or shelter, please choose an amount lower than $95. If this is your situation, I am serious about welcoming you.

Otherwise, I ask you to pay at least the minimum of $95, and I welcome you to consider paying more if you can.

What other people charge.

I’ve researched lots of similar offers, and most fall between $225 and $1250. If you have the means to do so, I welcome you to consider paying more than $95. This helps balance the cost of folks who cannot pay the minimum, and it supports me to invest more energy in making my work accessible to more people.

The gift here is that whatever amount feels right in your heart works great for me, truly. I trust that.

Payment plans?

Yes! When you get to the payment page, you will have the opportunity to make one payment or two. If you make two payments, you will be automatically charged for the first payment when you sign up and the second on December 1st.

How it works.

First, decide if you are going to join us. Let yourself imagine the possibilities of what this course might mean to you. If your body says yes, I invite you to trust that.

Second, if you decide “yes,” then decide how much feels right to you. Take time to think about the reality of your financial situation and sense into what number feels right to you. I wholeheartedly trust what you come up with, and I look forward to welcoming you!

And sign up by noon on Friday, October 7 to join our early bird class: Somatic Practices for Better Boundaries!

+/- $95, choose the price that feels right to your heart.

When you click to join, you’ll be taken to a page

where you can put in how much you want to pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this class for?

This class is for you if you are an:

  • Activist fighting to dismantle systems of oppression and bring forth a better future for your community;
  • Nonprofit leader working in solidarity with communities on the frontlines of oppression;
  • Therapist, healer, coach, or care worker doing your best to help your clients emerge from trauma in the face of systemic forces that continue to wound them;
  • Social entrepreneur trying to generate right livelihood in a way that honors your values;
  • Healthcare worker exhausted by working in a system designed to put profit over people;
  • Teacher or youth worker holding space for young people coming to age amid social, emotional, physical, and spiritual violence;
  • Policymaker working hard to change systems from the inside;
  • Artist trying to bring inspiration, beauty, and life to your community while also sustaining yourself;
  • Parent grappling with raising your children to be engaged citizens in a profoundly unjust world; or
  • A human being who feels overwhelmed and bewildered, trying to rise to the enormity of the world’s challenges while sustaining yourself at the same time.
Is this class a safe space?

I am committed to doing my best to create as safe a space as possible for all participants.

To do so, I’m committed to:

  • Consistently developing my skills as a facilitator with an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens;
  • Dismantling my internalized biases as a white, cisgender, able-bodied facilitator;
  • Structuring the group in a way that helps all participants feel supported; and
  • Centering group agreements that support participants to hold themselves and each other accountable for minimizing harm and maximizing comradery—with grace and compassion;

At the same time, given that we’re swimming together in the waters of imperialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchy (ty bell hooks), I must humbly recognize that I cannot guarantee a safe space for any participant, especially given my multiple proximities to power.

I am therefore committed to maintaining open lines of feedback and working together with participants—particularly Black, Indigenous, people of color, trans, and disabled participants—to make the group feel as safe and supportive as possible.

How much time is required each week?

It really depends on the person. If you devote the minimum time to 1) attending calls, 2) reading the material, and 3) doing some of the practices, it’ll probably take about three hours each week.

Sometimes folks choose to go particularly deep, which takes more time. Others will have less time to go deep.

What matters most is that you consciously choose how much time you dedicate, whether more or less.

Don’t pressure yourself to do more than you can. You can download everything and keep working with the material long after the class is over.

How long do I have access to course materials?

I’ll provide you with multiple ways to download and save all materials. Then, when the program ends, I’ll provide you with a link to all the course materials in one easy-to-access location that is yours forever.

Are you concerned that participants won’t value the course or take it seriously at “pay from the heart” pricing?

This is a question I’ve heard a lot. To respond, let’s start with two definitions of value:

  1. The earliest meaning of the word value (from c. 1300) is “price equal to the intrinsic worth of a thing.”
  2. When I use the word value, and when I hear most social-justice-minded folks use the word, we’re using a definition closer to this: “that which we hold most dear, our core needs and guiding principles.”

These are quite different definitions.

Because capitalism has trained us to equate price with the intrinsic worth of a thing, pay-from-the-heart pricing might lead some people to see this course as less being “valuable” or engaging less. Sure, that’s possible.

But I don’t believe it will be the case for most people.

Moreover, making this program more expensive (and thus less accessible to poor and working-class folks) to encourage people to sign up or engage with the content feels disrespectful and condescending.

I reject the notion that I’d need to demand any particular price for you to take the course seriously. I respect you and trust you to make that decision yourself.

I view prices as reflections of many factors, including our core values—that which matters most to us.

I decided to make this course Pay from the Heart in order to reflect my values, particularly my value of accessibility. Healing and personal transformation support should not be a privilege of the elite.

I’m having technical trouble signing up.

No problem. We can help. Email info@callingsandcourage.com, and we’ll get you all set up.

I’m just not sure.

Well, if you were my coaching client, I’d encourage you to do the following:

  • Check in with your body: In your mind’s eye, I invite you to imagine joining this course. How does the idea feel in your body — good and exciting? Good but scary/exhilarating? Those are good signs.
  • Explore the cost: With nearly every choice we make, we must let go of something to say yes to another. Ask yourself: What is the cost of joining? What is the cost of not joining? Which is greater?
  • Turn toward your Voice of Doubt with love and kindness. Our Voice of Doubt is the part that says Yeah, but… and What if… when we get closer to making a big decision. Do your best to turn toward your Voice of Doubt with love and kindness and ask what it needs. Then, get curious: How might you move forward in a way that meets your many needs?
  • Reflect: What are your intentions for the coming year? Does this feel well aligned, or not? What does your inner knowing say?

If your inner knowing says no or maybe, listen closely. And if your inner knowing says yes, I invite you to gather the courage and sign up. I would love to get to support you in this way.

I’d love to welcome you into the course!

Additional Praise from Former Clients

I now feel clear and grounded about my next steps forward. By learning to relax, get quiet, and listen, I awakened to a purpose I could not have predicted. I feel energized and committed to this project in a way that I cannot remember feeling for a long time.

By going after my passion, I’m modeling leadership and bravery to my children. And because I’m now more fulfilled and tapped into what is meaningful for me, I feel a much greater connection with my family and an ability to be present when we’re together.

Robin McKeon – Physical Therapist

As I work with Katherine, I feel more and more comfortable and accepting of myself. I have gotten so much better at taking care of myself, accepting my needs, limits, and boundaries, and taking the steps towards what is right for me at any moment. I judge myself less, and I worry less about what others think about me.

And because I am clearer with myself, I am clearer with others.

Lena Morimoto – Retired Nurse

Katherine taught me how to focus on (and experience!) what is good in my life. Rather than letting my challenges suck up my energy and make me feel stuck, I now know how to slow down, connect with myself, and create an action plan that feels good. And I now get to experience all of the deliciousness in the moments when I’m present!

Cancellations and Special Payments Requests policy

I’ve poured my heart into this program to make it as comprehensive and inexpensive as possible. I’ve seen other programs charge high prices for similar content, and yet I feel great about offering this at Pay from the Heart pricing.

At the same time, requests for seemingly simple things, like special payment plans or other custom arrangements, can quickly eat up hours of administrative time.

To minimize investment in administrative work, here are the policies I’ve chosen:

Custom/Extended Payment Plans: We cannot offer any payment plans other than what you see on this page because of the administrative time required.

Refunds & Cancellations: You can cancel the program before the first day of the program and my team and I will refund your money in full.

If you choose two payments, we can stop your second payment if you want to leave the program before that second payment is charged. But we need at least 2 business days’ notice (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Eastern) before the charge is processed.

We will not refund any payments charged after October 27, 2022.

I’d love to have you join us!

If you think maybe this program is what you need, but you’re not quite sure, please ask. I don’t want an unasked question or unexpressed concern to keep you from getting clarity or struggling to decide yes or no. Please reach out.

Use the form below and I’ll get back to you within two business days.

Note: If you want/need to pay less than my minimum, you do not need to ask. Truly, I trust you. If you ask, “I need to pay less than $95, is it okay?” my answer will always be, “Of course. I trust you and your knowledge of your financial situation. I’d love to see you in the course.”

I used to feel that I had to work harder to make things happen, but Katherine showed me that being present, pausing, taking a step back and observing— rather than reflexively “doing” something— was transformational.

Learning to slow down and respond, rather than react automatically, allowed me to avoid panic and to choose the best path at each point along the journey.

Sue Keller – Dentist

In a society that leads women to feel like they are never good enough, Katherine challenged me to take pride and find joy without constantly comparing myself to others.

She helped me to discover a greater sense of self-worth and awe for myself, which was a huge shift for me.

Sarah McDowell – Artist

Even in the earliest stages of working with Katherine, I was able to focus on and articulate specific goals, not just professionally but personally. I was able to see where I created my own roadblocks and get out of my own way. I not only homed in on my greatest passion, but I started to create a plan for how to bring it into reality.

I learned to trust my instincts, stop listening to my fierce inner critic, and create a message for my work that people will pay attention to.

I would without a doubt recommend Katherine to anyone wanting to get clear on what’s next and create a career aligned with their passions and gifts.

Kelly Vogel – Executive Function Coach

Amongst many other things, Katherine taught me to open doors I’d never even seen before. Katherine helped me gather the courage to listen to my intuition and finally cross that threshold to doing what I really wanted. Now I get paid to exercise for three to four hours a day!

Working with Katherine changed my life. If you told me a year ago that I can now sit for almost an hour with my eyes closed, I wouldn’t have believed it.

Jim Downing – 10 Point Litter Removal

Working with Katherine helped me learn to trust in myself, honor my needs, find my voice, and know that it’s okay to speak my truth.

Katherine gave me the support and encouragement I needed to let go of a significant piece of my work, which was the right step at the right time. It is amazing how different I feel now. I’ve sighed a huge breath of relief. I’ve lifted a weight from my body, and I have a physical sense of freedom and openness in my being.

Annique Sampson – Professional Coach

I’ve owned my business for seven years, and I finally feel like I have the time and space to grow it, rather than just maintaining it.

Now, I’m able to say “no” to the small stuff, stop the interruptions, set my priorities, and stay on the right path.

I’ve done a lot of therapy with a lot of different people, but what makes this work different is that it’s task-oriented. I put what I learn into practice. I had no idea that we’d go as deep into work as we have, and each thing I learn uncovers a deeper, exciting layer of discovery.

Laurie Johnson — The Pilates Studio

Katherine helped me learn to focus on what I can control. After only a few short sessions, I was experiencing less stress. Most importantly, I’ve learned that I can be successful in my business while also being true to myself and my clients.

As an added benefit, reducing the stress at work has reduced the amount of stress I normally bring home. My family is experiencing the benefits, too.

Shawn Wrisley – Business Consultant

Soon after working with Katherine, I got a promotion. I now have much more interesting work, a lot more responsibility, and a supervisor who communicates clearly and thinks through things the same way I do.

As a result of what I learned from Katherine, working from home has become SO MUCH EASIER. That cannot be emphasized enough. It was a real struggle before I worked with Katherine, but I actually enjoy it now.

Mariah Kurtz – Urban Planner

Before working with Katherine, I might have let myself feel like a victim or a failure, but with her guidance, I was empowered not only to face my fear but to grow from it.

Katherine helped me to realize that there are many paths through life and motherhood and that one path is not better or more profound than another. Instead of letting my fears rule, I was able to find strength, confidence, and beauty in my experience.

Robin Wilson – Mother

Katherine is incredibly versatile, intuitive, and thoughtful, and she brings a wonderful array of modalities to help explore the complexities of one’s desires (our many selves!) and also the challenges (the gates!).

As a result of our work together, I claimed a larger sense of what it means to live my life regeneratively, not just simply finding a new regenerative job or vocation. Such gratitude.

Curtis Ogden – Interaction Institute for Social Change

As someone who has done a lot of inner work, the depth of the healing I experienced working with Katherine truly boggles my mind!

After years of feeling creatively stagnant, it’s like the dams have opened and my creative energy is flowing freely and abundantly.

Elena Mamatas – Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

With Katherine’s support, I learned to reflect in a way that moved me forward rather than sending me down a rabbit hole. The structure Katherine provided built a ladder of self-sufficiency that got me out of my hole and kept me accountable for moving forward.

Rosie Perera – Social Worker

Katherine helped me ignite a tiny spark of hope. And this time it was not the naive hope of an idealist girl. It was a hard earned, realistic hope. I emerged from a dark tunnel of limitations into a wide open space of possibilities.

Katherine’s process of asking deep, penetrating questions with unconditional positive regard and then using the answers to craft practical action steps did more in six months than years of therapy had before.

Ylfa Perry – Physician

Katherine helped me discern which items to prioritize, recognize what was holding me back from taking care of myself, address deeper lifelong patterns that led to overworking, hold myself accountable for moving projects forward, and commit to a practice of self-compassion.

Less than six months after hiring Katherine, I no longer feel burned out. Instead, I’m in what feels like a whole new phase of my practice and am enjoying growing the non-work areas of my life.

Kate Cadwgan – Acupuncturist
