Dear fellow traveler,
Imagine you’re holding a rubber band—one end hooked around your right forefinger, the other around your thumb, palm facing away. Your forefinger represents the world and life you long for. Your thumb represents your current reality.
Pull that rubber band and feel the tension. That stretch—that space between where you are now and where you want to be—is what I call the Gap of Longing. Sometimes, it feels like a Gap of Despair, and other times, a Gap of Hope.
When those in power act with cruelty, and our power to change things feels so small, it’s easy to fall into despair—thinking our efforts don’t matter, that hope is lost. When we get stuck in despair, we let go of the tension of the taut rubber back, stop reaching for what we long for, and lose our way.
But when we hold onto hope—believing what we long for is possible, standing firm in what matters, and bravely moving toward what we long for—that tension can actually propel us ahead.
No promises on outcomes, but when we are clear about our values and live true to them, we can look back and know we lived a life worth living.
Hello! I’m Katherine Golub, PCC.
For thirteen years, I’ve walked alongside changemakers like you, helping them heal burnout, find clarity, and live in alignment with what matters most.
If you’ve been feeling drained, overwhelmed by the weight of the world, grieving dreams unmet, unsure how to balance your needs and contributions, or wondering if your efforts even matter—my free New Year’s Hope & Clarity Mini-Retreat is for you.
Over three days, at your own pace, we’ll explore:
Day One:
Finding hope and faith when things get hard. We’ll redefine hope to make it far easier to access, explore your heart’s deepest longings, and tend to the grief that often arises when we imagine the world we want.
Day Two:
Getting clear about the values that will guide your choices when life feels uncertain. Knowing your values helps you make choices you can feel proud of and conjure the future you long for in the present moment.
Day Three:
Taking your next steps through the Gap of Longing. We’ll practice choosing small, meaningful actions that nourish your heart and honor your values. And we’ll celebrate your small wins as you go.
Are you longing for nourishment, steadiness, and clarity as you move into the year ahead?
If so, I’d love to share this journey with you.
Sign up below, and from December 28 to 30, you’ll receive free daily emails with videos, readings, and worksheets to strengthen your hope and clarify your vision for the year ahead.
I look forward to sharing this experience with you!
With love and solidarity,
